Whether you are navigating laboratory policy changes...
Designing experiments with your PI...
Seeking advice on how to streamline your experiments...
Or just trying to find better ways to run your lab.

About the UCSF Lab Resource Group

The UCSF Lab Resource Group is made up of lab managers and representatives from various campus organizations including EH&S, ITS, Supply Chain Management, UCSF Logistics, HR, UCPD, and Facilities Management. We meet once every two months to discuss topics that impact researchers on campus. It is part of our mission to ensure the research community has a voice in the development and implementation of policies, operations, and regulations pertaining to laboratory research.

Please contact the Chairs of the Lab Manager's Steering Committee (the leadership group for the UCSF Lab Resource Group) with any questions, including how to join the LMSC and ways to troubleshoot any lab manager related issues with the greater UCSF community that you may be experiencing.

Chairs: Lia Banie [email protected] and Emanuela Zacco [email protected].

Achievements and Collaborations

Over the past several years we have implemented a new campus-wide lab coat laundry service, developed a checklist for new lab personnel, worked with EH&S to streamline waste management and helped Facilities roll out new policy for seismic bracing of equipment

Annual Events

We sponsor an annual vendor showcase at the Parnassus and Mission Bay Campuses in partnership with the Research Resource Program, award competitive professional development scholarships to offset the cost of conference/course registration for lab managers at our annual luncheon, and we host a social at the beginning of each year where lab managers can network and meet colleagues.
